What is included?

Optimal Warm-Ups 

The perfect warm-up prepares your heart, muscles and mind for the session ahead.

Low-Intensity Aerobic Sessions

These are great for building efficiency and endurance and also allows you to practice technique without causing stress to the body.

Brick Workouts

Combining at least 2 of the disciplines in one training session. Prepares you for race day when you have that tough run off the bike. Mastering this will make your race day more seamless and that much more enjoyable.

Recovery Days

Without adequate recovery, your long- term improvement will be hindered. Days off and sleep is where the magic happens, during this time, your body recovers from what you have put it through and adapts to come out the other end a fitter athlete.

Swim Technique

Although swimming generally only equates to 10% of the race, it is still important to master. Swimming is all about being streamlined and effortlessly gliding across the surface of the water, so if you are a beginner or brushing up your skills, having the correct technique is beneficial.

Mental Preparation

We will guide you on how to deal with the mental demands of the race you have chosen, preparing you for race conditions like distance or environmental factors. For example, are you expecting a high-temperature race day? Developing a plan to include this is vital to achieve success at your upcoming race.

At The Active Project, we cater to all abilities and backgrounds. By offering various levels of coaching we have made choosing the right program simple, so what project best suits you? We use the world’s largest digital training platform – “Training Peaks”, to deliver and manage your progress.

Whether you have signed up to one of our targeted projects or are coached one on one, there is no better way to plan and analyse your training.

The Intro Project
Six Week Program

You like the idea of doing a triathlon however you’re not sure if it’s for you.

Triathlon continues to be one of the fastest-growing participation sports in the world. Anyone can enter a triathlon but you do need some necessary skills which we can teach you! 

It is a beautiful way to maintain a healthy lifestyle while meeting new people with similar interests. Our Intro Project is designed to cater for people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Whether you are a swimmer, cyclist, runner or new to all three disciplines, the intro project will equip you with the techniques, skills and knowledge to get a leg up into this addictive sport. 

You will have access to experienced nationally accredited triathlon coaches over a 6-week program. It has been designed in a way that gives you full flexibility to complete the training sessions in your own time.

Every session includes videos with focal points, watch these at your leisure and, as many times as you want to help you grasp the concept. Each week there is a different technique to focus on to help you achieve:

  • The ideal swim stroke

  • Confidence on the bike

  • Running more efficiently

  • Implementing these skills together into your race

The Lifestyle Project
Weekly Program

You are a person that wants to be fit, healthy and participate in events, without impacting their lifestyle.

Triathlon training does not have to be monotonous and infinite! Reducing training volume allows you the opportunity to address weaknesses, imbalances and avoid injuries. We encourage creativity and take advantage of being able to use time in training functionally. For example, when you have dropped the kids off and have 30 minutes spare, instead of hanging out at the coffee shop go for a 30min run.

Take advantage of the time you would usually sit in traffic and ride your bike to work one day a week completing a targeted interval workout. 

Take the family for a run at the park, so you are still spending quality time together while modelling healthy lifestyles. 

We work with you and your schedule to allocate intensity efficiently and relative to your goals. Approach training intelligently and you will achieve remarkable gains without jeopardising other areas of life.

The Ultimate Project
Weekly Program

You want to sign up for your life's biggest challenge – sprint triathlon, marathon, ironman, whatever you want to achieve.

Some people want complete immersion in a sport while others wish to have a balance. We have, and our clients have trained for these events and we understand what is required to get you to your goal.

We will talk this through with you to find the optimal solution, to help you juggle family, work and then help you excel at one or even three sports! Finding the right balance is critical and we help you harness the principle of efficiency to aid in achieving your goal and still nurture other life responsibilities.

The Performance Project
Weekly Program

You are a high performer that doesn’t want to settle for mediocre and who is looking to improve at every event.

The relationship between coach and athlete is essential to the development of purpose, drive and self-motivation. Knowing the athlete and what makes them tick is critical for developing mental toughness and dealing with competitive pressures.

Every training program is tailored to your vision and your coach will help you understand the level of commitment and the application required to reach your goals. 

We will systematically build your program to meet the demands of your challenging sport from technical preparation to mental preparation.  Your Performance Project will include:  

  • Initial Consultation* to talk through your annual plan and your goals

  • Training Plan distributed weekly via Training Peaks

  • Framework outlined for upcoming training blocks

  • Analysis and feedback of previous weeks performance, including responses to athlete feedback (required for each session prescribed through Training Peaks)

  • Performance Review every 6-8 weeks

  • Race Strategy Planning session for your goal race

  • Email communication open to discuss questions that may arise
